whiskers on kittens

if you were wondering what kinds of crap I pumped out for my class or if you are just a hack looking to rip off someone else's work, here are the assignments I crapped out for the semester. If you're going to pick one to read, read the final original which I've listed first.

Final original short script

Four Star Friend my modern day horror story.

assignment 1: We were given a picture, printed from a website. the pictures were ambiguous and meant to get you free associating. The picture I had was of some kind of rodeo in India or Pakistan where there were about five guys trying to bring this bull down to the ground. The bull was adorned in flowers.  It was a weird picture but here's what came out of it.

assignment2: take the person who delivered the monologue in assignment 1 and put them in crisis. I was told my character was too bitchy.

assignment 3: take a character from the movie deliverance and project them out several years away from the incident. What would their life be like?

assignment4: take a short story and adapt it to a script. Story = The Greatest Theing in the World by Norman Mailer.

assignment 5: Watch a documentary on Shanghai and come up with a pitch and a treatment. Here's the treatment. I like the plot of the story bu the main character is supposed to be an adventurer and she definitely falls short.  I read a lot on Shanghai. . .don't know if that is captured.

leaving it behind

final script complated at approximately 2:40 am last night.

Remember those days? Cramming for a deadline? Doing your least best work? Guess what, those days are almost over. When I was laying in bed, trying to psych myself into writing yesterday, I snoozed for a moment and had dreams I'd already turned the paper in and had received my diploma.

so close to moving on. . .

raised by wolves

The post below shows a colorful albeit faded past, a past which lives in my nostalgia for a normal shared experience of childhood.

GG emailed me with disturbing news in which human remains were found near a place familiar to her, S, and I. The findings date back to those faded psychadelic times.

She is amazed that we survived our childhood experience. So am I.

I read a lot of books and watch a lot of movies about surburban malaise. But how does that ennui compare to knowing that the guy in the apartment upstairs was dragged by his arms from a moving car along a highway guardrail down the street until he was dead. You know, over a drug deal gone bad and all. No big deal. And Marty's husband Dean has adult onset pedophilia because he blew what was left of his brain out on some hot shot. Now he has the body of a 30 year old and the mind of a 5 year old and all he wants to do is show the little girls his boy parts. and maybe get them to give him a lick. No big deal. And little Cheri was last seen hooking along pac hiway. Wasn't she your age? No big deal. Bring mommy some more qualudes then take the kids outside for a few hours. Here's twenty bucks. Don't come back until Jim's car is gone. No big deal.

Oh well, back to my script about the serial killer.

like a rainbow too

a friend of the hidey hole sent this to me the other day. I don't know how this happened but this picture made me nostalgic for the fucked up color palate of my youth. . .all that psychedlic bullshit.

I have a secret: My mom gave me a lava lamp and I never got rid of it. I'm plugging it in today.

oh yeah, that's phyllis diller in the middle.

identity theft

recently I have had the misfortune of watching many panic fueled television shows on the issue of identity theft. Most of the time  I don't give in too much to the fear factor that drive shows like this; shows that keep people afraid and controllable. However, maybe because I've seen first hand how easy it is to retrieve other people's information that I am somewhat anxious about this.

The wallet has not come back, and the pannicks are building.  I am quite positive that some thug kid found my wallet where it must have fallen out of my pocket on west side avenue and has now tried to figure out a way to use all my shit. Hopefully they are not smart enough. I keep hoping that good karma wallet points will come my way. Once I found a persons day planner with 3000$ in it. I spent the day trying to find that person and finally did.

I will keep my fingers crossed that whoever found the wallet took the cash and threw away the rest.

crazy beigey

It seems as if all the volcanos are blowing at once. Mini B was at beige until the wee hours last night, working his tail off.  I feel like the Juggler/Court Jester bouncing around the cubes like a spaz. The mania is here and I will get all this stuff done for school and work and during the convocation ceremony I will drop dead of a heart attack or fall out of the procession due to exhaustion.

I want to go back to my little Italian spa in Tirrenia.  I told GG yesterday that I keep having bouts of The Stares, in which I can only stare blankly into space, paralyzed.

tired.

hooray for spring plus end of semester anxiety

I spent my weekend laughing about trees that are now exploding like popcorn all over the city. It's like they were horses straining at the gate before the derby. The gun went off when the temp hit 70 and now it's a race to see who can eject the most pollen before the heats get here.

Other than my joy over springtime weather, I am trying to keep my shit together and make it through the next week, and turn in all my final projects. My problem was this weekend.  I brought my laptop home but I just could NOT open it up. I did nothing. I was only fit for doing minor chores and watching the DVD commentary for Grandma's Boy. Serious. Oh wait, and sleeping. Lots and lots of sleeping.

This week, I am taking the focusin, I am going to the library, and I am staying on task until I finish all theis stuff. My brain is in a bit of a cramp right now and everytime thoughts turn to these projects I wantt to shut down. Must not shut down.

GOOGLE TO FACE FTC PRIVACY COMPLAINT OVER DOUBLECLICK
Three public interest groups are expected to file a joint complaint Friday with the Federal Trade Commission calling for an investigation into the potential threat to consumer privacy posed by Google's planned acquisition of DoubleClick. The Washington, D.C.-based Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), along with the Center for Digital Democracy (CDD) and the U.S. Public Interest Research Group, are asking the FTC to stop the $3.1 billion merger until the trade commission investigates Google's data collection and storage practices, orders DoubleClick to sweep out its data storehouse, and requires the search giant to offer a public plan for safeguarding consumer privacy.
