friends from middle earth

I was a litle upset so I took a break. When I got back to my desk, guess who was here??!

Spellbinder!!!

Spellbinder

I said hi and asked him if he would stop casting typo spells and I gave him a list of victims to smite. (FB--he is off to smite the chumps for you and Hams, Niagra Falls is going down. Horst--H.R. chumps better look out.) Spellbinder is ON THE LOOSE.

Meanwhile back at the Elf Council. . .

the hobgoblin brigade dispatch

I googled "hobgoblin brigade" and lo and behold I was led to this newsletter. Unfortunately I ran into the obit file and I am sad to learn the following folks have passed on:

Codric's Roll of the Dead:

28: Godar Thurinson [2260] has died.
3: Regent Elthar of Greyfell [z059] has died.
       1  dead body [z059]             100
3: Kurupt [b685] has died.
5: Bruennor Battlehammer [2592] has died.
5: Son of Grimm [b471] has died.
5: Chill Hobgoblin [c071] has died.
7: Goblin Balloon Brigade [h663] has died.
7: Chill Hobgoblin [9342] has died.
9: Nomad the Wanderer [t194] has died.
9: Ivak the Destroyer [2580] has died.
9: Bruce [a980] has died.
9: Cedric de Haand [3660] has died.

I'm a little upset to learn that the Goblin Balloon Brigade has died and also that Bruce has gone onto greener pastures. I also want to raise your attention to a memo from Cudgel, who speaks for the Crimson Dragon Ministry of Internal Security. The Continent of Camaris is apparently a war zone. I doubt that any envoys from the U.S. will bother to get involved as their involvement tends to be ineffective. I am in talks with the elf council right now and they are deliberating over the best course of action. I will keep you posted.

Carry on.

elf council

The elf council is not like the student council where only the most popular kids get elected. No. The elf council is more fair and democratic. Things get discussed. There are debates. There are deliberations. Every voice is heard.

The elves also reach out to others in the woodland collective in an act of inclusions. There are other groups whose political infrastucture is just not as cohesive or well-formed as that of the elves. Take for example, goblins. Goblins are a loose bunch. They follow a sort of mob mentality (no offense goblin, you are a bit different.) Goblins are not used to inclusive politics and tend to gravitate toward a military junta style organization.

I googled "the politics of fairies" and found mostly links to pages where people didn't know what they were talking about. They must be getting faires confused with something else. Fairies seem to be a bit autonomous and they don't really wed so I am not understanding the anger over this non issue. Like I said, people were getting confused. Anyways, fairies tend to act independently and have no need for the collective although they will check in with the elf council from time to time so that they can weigh in on important issues and keep up with current events.

I am researching this further today. It is important to explore other cultures. I am filing this post under cultural studies.
